Private DIY Soy Candle Making Workshops

Join us for a hands-on candle-making experience at our Austin studio. You’ll learn the benefits of paraffin-free soy wax, explore essential oil blending, and hand-pour your own custom candle with guidance from our team.

Please note: All private workshops take place inside our Slow North retail shop during regular business hours. While the space remains open to the public, your reservation means you’ll have your own dedicated workshop experience—perfect for groups of friends, family, or co-workers looking for an intimate, memorable activity together.

Choose Your Ticket

Each ticket admits one guest to the workshop.

Option 1: One Candle Ticket
Includes materials and instruction to make one 8-oz candle.

Option 2: Two Candle Ticket
Includes materials and instructions for one guest to make two 8 oz candles.
This ticket is for one person only and may not be split between two guests.

What’s Included

• All-natural ingredients: soy wax, cotton/paper wicks, essential oils
  - One or two 8-oz frosted glass tumblers, depending on ticket selection
  - 1.5 hours of guided instruction
  - 20% off any in-store purchase made the same day
  - Space is reserved for 2 hours (enough time to sing Happy Birthday and mingle before or after!)

You’ll leave with a non-toxic candle, custom-blended by you.

We’re excited to host your private group! Here’s what to expect based on your guest count:

• Up to 12 guests: Enjoy a cozy, seated workshop experience at our candle-making table.

• 13–32 guests: Get ready for a lively standing-room candle bar setup, perfect for mixing, mingling, and pouring candles in a more open-format experience! It's a fun, social twist on our classic workshop - ideal for larger groups or celebrations.

Private Workshop FAQs

What's the group size minimum and maximum?
For in-store private workshops hosted in our workshop space, the minimum group size is 4 and the maximum is 32. 

Do you have a minimum age requirement?
Individuals under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. The accompanying adult(s) may participate in the workshop or choose to hang out in the space to supervise.

Can I bring food or beverages?
Hands will be busy during the workshop session but light refreshments are allowed. Slow North does not provide cups or servingware.
