Summertime is officially here! Are you feeling the heat yet? Beyond dips in the pool and sitting in front of the fan all day, whipping up a homemade smoothie is a fantastic way to stay cool — and to pack in your fruits and veggies for the day. Check out these 10 yummy summer smoothie recipes, which highlight seasonal ingredients that taste especially delicious in summer.

1. Watermelon, Coconut Water, Fresh Mint

This smoothie is like a splash of cool water to the face — refreshing, hydrating, and delicious all at once. Simply blend the aforementioned ingredients. For an extra detoxifying oomph, try adding cucumber or a handful of cilantro.

2. Strawberry Apricot Sunrise

Put one medium ripe apricot (sliced in half, with the pit removed) and a frozen banana in your blender. Add ⅓ cup of your milk of choice, one cup fresh strawberries, and two teaspoons honey or agave syrup.

3. Strawberry Pineapple

Nothing says summer like a good strawberry-pineapple combo. Here’s what you’ll need to blend together for this smoothie:

8 oz. low-fat vanilla or plain yogurt

1 large banana

1½ cups chopped pineapple, frozen

1½ cups frozen strawberries

2-3 tbsp. ground flax seed

¼ cup milk

4. Mango, Banana, Papaya

A taste of the tropics. Blend fresh together mango, banana, and half of a papaya with the your milk of choice.

5. Peach Cobbler Smoothie

Hot summer nights call for cool desserts. Enter this amazing peach cobbler smoothie recipe, which tastes just like the real deal. You can use canned or fresh peaches, but try using fresh ones if you can!

Mmm, mojitos. We love a good cocktail now and then, but all that sugar and alcohol can add up. This mojito smoothie delivers all the flavor without the hangover-inducing ingredients. Blend two cups of ice with one cup coconut milk, two juiced limes, and a handful of fresh mint. Add a tablespoon or two of honey if you like it sweet!

9. Beet the Heat

Beets in a smoothie might sound bizarre, but trust us: this smoothie is simply unbeet-able. Loaded with superfoods like turmeric and dates, it packs a serious nutritional punch and tastes great to boot!
