Fall feels like a season of truly slowing down and taking a deep inhale of all the positive things in our lives; it's a season of gratefulness and rest and we want to soak up every second. To celebrate this beautiful season, we’ve partnered with Nitya of Beyond Curry to share her heartwarming Masala Chai recipe with Oat Milk!

Nitya is local to Austin but is originally from India. She loves to cook and create flavorful, aromatic, gourmet foods that reflect memories of her childhood and family - and this recipe definitely showcases those passions! This dairy-free chai recipe embodies fall - it has just the right amount of spice and sweetness, and it'll have you wanting to cozy up by the fire and savor every sip.

And here's how to make it:

-Crush all the spices and ginger together in a mortar and pestle.

-Add the crushed spices to the water and bring to a boil. After it’s reached a boil, lower the temperature to medium and simmer for 3 minutes.

-Add the sugar and stir and simmer for another 2 minutes.

-Add the tea leaves and bring to a boil. Once boiled, lower the heat back to medium to simmer for 2 more minutes.

-Pour the mixture into a strainer to remove the spices.

-Pour your mixture into your favorite mug (this recipe serves 2, so we recommend inviting a friend over to share!)

-Warm up your oat milk and pour it into your chai mixture.

-Curl up on the couch, light a candle, and enjoy!
